Portage Toyota & RV began in 1973, as a RV dealership in downtown Portage la Prairie. At that time it was known as Portage Leisure Centre.

In 1980 the dealership relocated to a new facility on highway 1A West on the western edge of the city. At this time a Toyota vehicle franchise was added to complement the recreational vehicles.
Portage Toyota & RV is a family run business and is now part of the Portage Auto & RV Center with its other automobile dealership Portage Dodge Chrysler.
